3 Tricks to a Better Night’s Sleep and More Energy

Are you the type of person that reaches for another cup of coffee or an energy drink shortly after lunch? Do you find it hard to keep your eyes open during the day? Do you leave work with no energy and crash when you get home? It’s probably because you’re not getting an adequate amount of sleep at night, so here are three things to try that might lead to a better night’s sleep and more energy throughout the day:

  1. Poor ventilation is your worst nightmare. Warm, humid areas can make you sleepy so sit near open windows if possible and be sure to run your bathroom exhaust and kitchen range fans frequently. Fresh, cool air can help keep you awake during the day.
  2. Adjust the thermostat at night. Studies have shown that the perfect sleeping temperature is right around 65°F. Try experimenting with temperatures in this range until you find the one that works best for you.
  3. Be careful what you eat during the day. Avoid overly fatty foods, big breakfasts and heavy lunches. All three can make you sleepy and increase the chance of you dozing off.

Although we can’t guarantee a great night’s sleep, we encourage you to try a few of the tips above. We can, however, help you with any ventilation or air conditioning issues that arise in your San Antonio area home.
